Participants’ Guide

 

 

EAC seeks to provide a setting where can happen and reflection on mission deepens and widens as we strive to be a church renewed.

EAC adopts a methodology not merely academic, but also experiential, inclusive, interactive and participatory.

 

Community Animation

 

Community life animation desires to create an atmosphere of mission-oriented community where the values of the Reign of God are nurtured and enhanced.

Responsible freedom, mutual respect, cultural and gender sensitivity are basic principles in a pluralistic community. Each one is invited to be engaged in active participation in the whole learning process. Thus, the following guidelines for the common good.

 

As Community of equal partnership

 

1. We relate with each other as co-learners in the spirit of equal discipleship, mutual respect and inclusivity.

2. Integration groups are created to facilitate community reflection.

3. We foster sense of co-responsibility and participation in community animation. We recognize differences with reverence. 4.Privacy in the rooms is to be respected, considering gender and cultural sensitivity. Guests are to be entertained in the kiosks.

5. Open communication and responsible feedbacking (to the staff, resource persons or co-participants) are characteristics of adult learning in a community of disciples.

 

Health and environmental Concerns

 

1. Each one is responsible for the cleanliness of her/his own room and surroundings. Please observe proper garbage management.

2. Conserve energy: Put off fans and lights when not in use.

3. Purified drinking water is provided in designated areas.

4.Cottages, meeting rooms, session hall, dining hall and aircon rooms are designated smoke-free.

5. Proper sleep and regular exercises are encouraged.

 

Regular flow of the day

 

1. Meals: Breakfast at 7:00 AM, Lunch at 12:00 noon,

2. Sessions: 8:30 AM – 12:00 noon; 2:30 PM – 5:00 PM

3. Eucharist: 6:15 AM or 5:30 PM

4. Pastoral Exposure Opportunities (weekends)

5. Community Day of Prayer/Integration (monthly)

6. Personal Prayer and Study in your own time

7. Curfew: 10:00PM

 

Availability of and Responsible Use of Facilities:

 

1. Chapel, Prayer Room, Library,  TV Room, Kiosks

2. Long distance calls are to be properly noted in a logbook provided for personal accountability.

3. Do your own laundry. Flat irons are located in designated areas.

4. A little canteen is available for personal needs and refreshment.

5. Free coffee and powdered juices are available.

6. Report damages immediately for repair and maintenance.

7. Return things to proper places. Daily newspapers are NOT to be brought OUT of the newspaper room.

8. Ethical use of cell phones is encouraged.

 

Security

 

1. Each one is provided with keys to their rooms. Personal belongings are your own personal accountability. EAC is not responsible for any losses.

2. Logbook for log-in / log-out is provided at a designated place.

3. Security personnel are patrolling the area from 5:00 PM – 6:00 AM.

 

Dealing with Workers and Employees

 

1.Workers and employees of EAC are to fulfill various responsibilities assigned to them. Any request is channeled through the office or the Community Animator.

2. Kitchen area is only for authorized personnel

 

Liturgical Animation

 

Renewed Liturgy is integral to a renewed mission of the Church. It is a movement toward deep interiority so that the Church becomes a “deeply praying community whose contemplation is inserted in the context of our time and the cultures of our peoples today”. Hence, the following guidelines for  meaningful liturgical celebrations:

 

1. Simple, meaningful and inculturated liturgical celebration is en couraged. Performance–oriented celebration is to be avoided.Rituals put us in a state of encounter with the Sacred. A meaningful Liturgical flow implies adequate preparation and proper coordination for active and conscious participation.

2. Inclusive language in the liturgy is preferred

3. Sacrament of Reconciliation would be available anytime.

4.Liturgical instruments and other materials are provided in designated areas. Responsible care is an utmost value.

5.Liturgical teams are organized for greater participation and teamwork.
